So i just installed my vista again and I installed continuum back, but noticed that it didn't have any sounds at all. Not the starting lightning effect, no menu clicking sounds and no in-game sounds. From options I have checked that my sound mode is on and quality is default. Also that my speakers are on and I hear all other sounds fine. Tried to re-install it also. Anyone got a clue? Also noticed that if I put 3D sound effects on, i hear them (shooting and bombs), but cant hear anything else (pouncing from wall, engine sounds etc..). I just want to hear my flagbell timer. Please help.

Maybe some issue with DirectX, make sure you get the latest DirectX version. You could try running DxDiag and test the sound there.
You could also try playing the wav files manually in some media player

- Make sure you have Windows set to show file extensions
- In the Continuum\sounds folder, you get a bunch of .wa2 files...
- Rename some to .wav and try to play them in whatever program you use for audio

Same problem here. I have my monitor hooked up HDMI, so my sound _should_ come out through my monitor speakers, but it doesn't on Continuum. So I use a set of regular speakers and I hear all sounds except for Continuum sounds. No idea what to do here.

Are your speakers in the monitor, via HDMI, like Shock?

Um.
Just a quick note. You may want to make sure you've got the right audio driver for your motherboard. A few times, I've had it download a driver via windows update and install, but it was completely the wrong driver. Windows fails because some device and hardware I.D's are identical, so you get stuck with the wrong driver.
Just something to try.
Also, you may want to take a look at the Vista and 7 support threads here. I'd give DEP a shot for sure. It's known to cause a few problems.

Got it working thanks to Shock. Windows said that my audio driver is up to date, so I tried to download it for the internet. And downloaded Realtek High Definition Audio driver and boom it worked
Problem solved, thanks you all for your help.

Ah, awesome. With HD audio, you need the Microsoft UAA driver as well. There was probably some sort of missing part or corruption there.
Glad you got it working.

Yes, actually. I wasn't really referring to up-to-date as much as I was having the right driver.. but whatever works.
I'm currently fighting a series of blue screens, so I've had to individually update all of my drivers to please the people at techsupportforum.com while they help me. Haha.
